I honestly love the Vets and vet techs. They are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They saved my dog when he ingested a tennis ball and had bladder stones. I want to give 5 stars but unfortunately they have 1 rude receptionist, when I call to schedule or ask a question she has been hostile on multiple occasions and she hung up on me when I asked for her name. If you can get past that part everyone else is very lovely and they take great care of your animals.
This practice is very accommodating and friendly. I have encountered one emergency visit due to an accident since I started with them in 2015. They got my dog in immediately and subsequently, he is fine. They certainly have a great general veterinary practice and I'm always confident in them.
I have been bringing my pets to Jersey Calhoun Veterinary Hospital now for 15 years. My parents took our pets there when I was a child as well. My pets have all received excellent care at Jersey Calhoun, and even though I live in Alton they are well worth the drive. The staff is always polite, understanding and extremely informative about any procedures, operations, even something as simple as nail trimming. I have never felt uncomfortable leaving my pet there when they were spayed, or when one of my dogs was found to have Breast Cancer. They took excellent care of her and kept me in the loop of her surgery all day long.
When my older dog passed away a couple years ago, I called them to let them know that she had passed and to please not send me any more reminder cards. Instead they sent me a condolences card signed by the staff. This meant so much to me, I still have the card tucked away with my dogs sweater.
